Yuchao Yang is a Boya Distinguished Professor at Peking University, a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and a New Cornerstone Investigator. He serves as Dean of the School of Electronic and Computer Engineering and Deputy Dean of the School of AI for Science. His long-term research focuses on compute-in-memory chips, neuromorphic computing, and brain-computer interfaces. He has led more than 20 major and key research projects, including the National Key R&D Program of China, the New Cornerstone Investigator Program, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, an Integrated Project of the NSFC Major Research Plan, NSFC Key Projects, the "Dual 1+1" Key Project of the Northern Advanced Process Research Institute, and the Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation. He has published over 180 papers in leading journals and conferences such as Nature Electronics, Nature Reviews Materials, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications, Science Advances, IEDM, ISSCC, VLSI, MICRO, and HPCA, including more than 20 papers in the Nature family. He has contributed five book chapters (in Chinese and English) and holds over 30 granted Chinese invention patents. His work has received more than 16,000 citations with an h-index of 58, and was selected as one of the "Top 10 AI Advances of 2020" by the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence, and among the "Top 10 Academic Advances in China's Semiconductor Field in 2022" by Ijiwei. He has delivered more than 70 plenary, keynote, and invited talks at international conferences. He has served as Chief Scientist of a National Key R&D Program project, a council member of the 6th and 7th China Association for Young Scientists, Associate Editor (Deputy Editor-in-Chief) of npj Unconventional Computing and Microelectronic Engineering, and as an editorial board member of Acta Electronica Sinica, Chinese Journal of Semiconductors, National Science Review, Chip, and a Young Editorial Board Member of Science China Information Sciences. His honors include the inaugural EXPLORER PRIZE, the Youth Science Award of the Ministry of Education, the Zhongguancun Outstanding Young Scholar Award, the Qiu Shi Outstanding Young Scholar Award, the Wiley Young Researcher Award, MIT Technology Review China "Innovators Under 35", the Huawei Computing Product Line Best Technical Collaboration Award, and the Shenzhen Outstanding Young Talent in Science and Technology Innovation Award. He has been recognized as a Highly Cited Chinese Researcher by Elsevier continuously from 2020 to 2024.
